Our SPEEDLOADER dipper has six rods, which means that every time you dip you're getting six tubes forming. The compact length and stout thickness of the rods produce a nice beefy tube we like to call a Stub Chub.

After you're done dipping I like to let them drip cool and then snip off the excess to form a round head. Remove them from the rods, cut them to length, and then cut the tails to form the skirt fly tying scissors with a bit of worm oil on them work great...

Razor blades are more precise, but more time consuming. Each rod is 3/16 in diameter and is just under two inches long.

This kit comes with a quart of Hard Formula Liquid Plastic and a bottle of Hardener to get you to where you need to be in no time (tubes need to be very rigid). I suggest starting out by using a heaping Tablespoon of Hardener to every 5 or 6 ounces of Hard Formula Liquid Plastic. Make sure you have the right heat when dipping as well...

Too hot and it won't build up, too cold and it will develop lumps. There's a slight learning curve to the whole process, but take your time and have fun with this time tested art form. Here's how it works. Pour Liquid Plastic into Pyrex container, put in microwave. Heat Liquid Plastic until it turns from white to clear.

This process usually takes 2 to 3 minutes depending on batch size. We recommend heating small batches (8 to 10 oz's at a time). Towards the end of the heating process use short bursts (10 seconds at a time) to reach desired temperature. Once Liquid Plastic turns clear and reaches correct temperature (325 to 350 degrees) add color (can be added before heating as well) and glitter.

Mix together well and then shoot or pour into mold. This process removes excess air from the formula which cuts down on bubbling, and improves the clarity of your soft plastic baits.

To use protective clothing like gloves, long sleeves, pants, and closed toe shoes (no sandals) when pouring hot Liquid Plastic. Wear appropriate safety goggles and provide adequate ventilation in your work space too (either a fan or personal respirator).
